Cinsaut Rose 2007

The Foggo Wines Rose comes from the Wilcadene Block on Douglas Gully Rd, McLaren Flat. A slightly elevated position, enjoying uninterrupted views of the sea and surrounding hills. The vineyard borders scrub where there is an abundance of wildlife including kangaroos and koalas.

The vines planted in 1958 are dry grown on ancient sand hills and the Cinsaut produces the best fruit for its variety in McLaren Vale. Cinsaut is a Rhone variety grown only in two other locations in Australia for a total of 59 hectares. Cinsaut has good skin thickness and has an attractve red colour and is low in tannin and has a smooth finish.

This wine had minimum contact with skins and cool fermentation temps have left the wine with fresh and alive varietal fruit. A European style rose, dark colour great fruit.

The bouquet is raspberry and musk. The palate is crisp, full mouth feel and lingereing fruit.
