Old Vine Shiraz 2004 SOLD OUT

The 2004 vintage gave us ideal conditions for slow ripening of fruit, there was no disease pressure, thus a great colour and flavour spectrum.

Foggo Wines’ Old Vine Shiraz a single vineyard wine comes from gnarled and contorted old vines planted on the family’s Winery block . These vines are all dry grown in ancient alluvial and sandy loam soils producing low yields of small berry bunches of flavour intense fruit.

The grapes were hand picked , open fermented and lightly pressed resulting in a beautiful smooth fruit driven wine. This Shiraz was matured in predominantly French Oak and some older American Oak.

The bouquet is deep intense plum and ripe berry fruits with brilliant colour.The palate presents the rich silkiness of ripe fruits and well integrated oak. The finish is persistent.
