Grenache Shiraz Cinsaut 2004
The fruit for this Rhone valley blend is sourced from the family's Winery and Wilcadene blocks. The varieites used are, Grenache, Shiraz and Cinsaut. Cinsaut is a variety from the south of France and is sometimes spelt cinsault or cinsqsaou. There is approx 59 hectares of Cinsaut planted in Australia. The Foggo Cinsaut was planted on the Wilcadene block in 1958 and is dry grown. The Grenache and the Shiraz also comes from very old dry grown vine. All the fruit is hand picked to taste and processed separately, matured in oak for 2 years, then bottled in house. The nose exhibits spice, pepper, plum, raspberry, blackberry, musk and rhubarb. The palate is a huge fruit explosion, great mouthfeel, excellent length and complemented by well integrated oak Awards/Medals
